SCOTT DIXON - ...
- # 18 NEXTEL POWERWARE PANASONIC PACWEST TOYOTA
Position: 3rd Time: 1:08.972s Laps: 15 Speed: 116.813mph
"I'm quite please with the way my car handled," said Dixon. "We went back on a few changes from this morning and, with balance being so important here, actually improved the car for qualifying. As far as our set-up in concerned, we started the weekend similar to Mauricio's but our adjustments helped us out a lot. The changes were minor - just to nail down the balance. I do think we could have improved a little had the late red flag not come out; but to improve enough for pole would have been difficult. Tomorrow we'll try to conserve fuel and open up our pit windows and hope for that dream yellow flag to fly at the right time. It's still going to be tough to beat the two Penske cars but we'll do our best to try."
MAURICIO GUGELMIN - # 17 NEXTEL PACWEST TOYOTA @Position: 14th Time: 1:10.001s Laps: 17 Speed: 115.095mph
"We didn't get the balance back from this morning," said Gugelmin. "I don't know if the weather changed, or what happened, but we missed it. We were loose on entry into the corners with a ton of understeer in the mid-corner portions of the turns. I'm very disappointed. This is the worst my car has been all weekend and my balance is just not there. I'm not sure why."
