OVERALL: Bourdais ran the first half of the day and was the second fastest (to Servia) in his group. Junqueira took to the track in the afternoon session and was the quickest and third fastest overall for today. The team practiced running pit stops as well in preparation for the season-opener on February 23 in St. Petersburg.

SEBASTIEN BOURDAIS, #2 Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone: "It was pretty hot in my session. We found some things to improve the car but when you make one change it effects one end of the car and then you have to work to get the right balance in the other end of the car. We ran a good number of laps and accomplished quite a lot today. It's good that we are among the fastest but we are here to test and don't care too much about the (lap) times. (On his relationship with NHR:) It's like a family and I felt integrated with the team straight away, which is important for the driver. Their baseline set-up is really good and it's always easier for a driver this way."

BRUNO JUNQUEIRA, #1 PacifiCare Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone: "We made a lot of changes to the PacifiCare car but the track was much better so that also contributes to my running five-tenths quicker today. On my first run, I was three-tenths quicker than my fast time yesterday. We were capable of a quicker lap time but the red (flag) came out when we put the new tires on late in the session. I got caught behind traffic on my quickest lap so I know the car was capable of a better lap time if the red didn't come out. It was really frustrating but it is the same for everyone. The temperature makes a big difference especially in Champ cars since so much downforce is generated by the wings so a higher temperature makes you go slower. You have to compare yourself with the other drivers running in the same conditions. We ran a lot of laps today and were able to accomplish a lot of things. (On being considered the "favorite" to win the Championship:) I don't consider myself the favorite or not the favorite. I just know I want to win the Championship. I finished second last year and want to improve on that."

ON TAP FOR TOMORROW: The final day of 2003 CART Spring Training will begin tomorrow morning with each driver participating in two sessions.
