JOURDAIN JR. SUFFERS AN ACCIDENT IN PRACTICE

Herdez driver Michel Jourdain Jr. suffered an accident during the Friday's morning practice for the Bosch Spark Plug Grand Prix Presented by Toyota. Michel Jourdain Jr., Car #19 Herdez/Payton-Coyne Racing Team: "We were running with traffic. Everybody was preparing for a clear lap. I was behind Robby Gordon and he was not running very fast, as he was preparing for a hot lap, too. Suddenly my car lost grip in Turn 4. Probably the new small wings that we are using caused it. The crew is working on my backup car, and we will use the same settings that we had on the primary car for the timed session." He added: "I feel Ok. I stayed in the hospital for about twenty minutes and after that, I was cleared. The doctors will allow me to participate in qualifying. I only feel some pain in my back and I will sleep a little bit before I go back to the cockpit."
