Sebastien Bourdais ...
Sebastien Bourdais #1 McDonald's Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone-- "I went in the tires this morning, pretty quick. You know, I wasn't too impressed with that. But the McDonald's car was really good this afternoon after the boys did an awesome job to fix it. There was quite a bit of damage. They did awesome. We went back out and it's like nothing happened. I was really pleased. Did a first run, P1. Going back out, I was expecting a little bit more grip from the Bridgestone red tires. It seems like it's very similar, I have a feeling, between the blacks and the reds. We'll see what happens tomorrow. But anyways, whether it's wet or dry, we'll start from the pole, and that's the best spot you want to be. We'll manage."
A.J. Allmendinger #7 INDECK Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone -- "I was pleased after practice. The car was really good. We seemed to struggle a little bit in qualifying. But the whole Forsythe Indeck team really got the car back together after the engine blew yesterday. To know that we only had one shot to get a good lap in, be up front, I'm fairly pleased. I think the last time we sat like this after qualifying I won the race. I'm okay with that. Denver, won the race in Denver. I think we've had a good car all weekend. Whether it's wet or dry, starting up front is always good. We'll go from there. We'll see."
Justin Wilson #9 CDW Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone -- "Today went reasonably well. We made improvements with the car. Feel as lot better. I'm just pleased to be in the top three. Was hoping to challenge these two a little bit more. You know, we keep sneaking away at it, getting closer. Hopefully, come tomorrow, we'll have an interesting race."
Paul Tracy #3 INDECK Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone -- "Well I'm pretty happy, It's the best I've ever qualified here in Montreal so it turned out to be a pretty good effort by the team, a top 4 qualifying position. It looks like the weather tomorrow is going to be a little iffy so I think the race is going to be pretty interesting. Overall it's a pretty satisfying weekend."
Oriol Servia #6 Gulfstream Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone -- "Today was one of those deals where the Gulfstream -- PKV Racing team is happy that we qualified in the top-five, but today we really had high hopes to either fight for the pole or be in the first two rows. The grid is so close. One tenth of second and we would have been third. So, once again we shows that the PKV Racing team is doing good work and improving. It is always exciting to come to Montreal. The city is great and I have always liked the race track because it has been good to me. I was second in 2003, won here last year and hopefully can do it win again this year for PKV Racing and Gulfstream."
Bruno Junqueira #2 Newman/Haas Racing Ford-Cosworth/Bridgestone/Lola/Bridgestone -- "The car was good but not good enough to fight for pole again today. Maybe we could have had potential to be in the top-three but it was hard to get a clear lap. I had a clear shot on my first run and set my fastest lap time then. On the second run I couldn't get a clear lap because Tagliani came out on track right in front of me. I kept backing off to get more of a gap but would still come up on him on the next lap. There was a lot of traffic and everyone was trying to get a gap. It's going to be a long, hard race and we will be really patient. I'm confident we can move to the front."
Dan Clarke #14 CTE Racing-HVM Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone - "You always want to be higher up the grid for the start, so I could be disappointed with eighth, but I finished third from a ninth place start two weeks ago, so it's not such as big deal. My second set of tires didn't feel as good as the first, so although I didn't get a chance to use all my laps, I'm satisfied with our time. Although we're so close to Will (Power), just another lap could have put me ahead of him. The rookie battle is so tight and I think our times today showed how close we are. There's everything to play for tomorrow, I'm going to go out, keep my head down, let the race unfold and enjoy this great track."
Andrew Ranger #27 Wal-Mart Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone -- "It's a little frustrating because I think we had the car to gain a few more positions on the grid, but I somehow kept losing power with the engine when I was shifting which I'm sure the engineers will sort out before Sunday's race. However, we are again in the top-10 in qualifying which shows that we are able to stay close to the leaders on a more consistent basis. Tomorrow's race should be interesting with the threat of rain, since we haven't raced under wet conditions at all this year, but I'm really looking forward to it because the fan support here has been phenomenal and we want to put together a good show for them."
Nelson Philippe #4 CTE Racing --HVM Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone-- "I am disappointed about the results today. We thought that the changes we did were going to be successful but I just could not go any faster. There was just no more time left in the car. We will be going over the data tonight and find a car that I can drive and go quickly with in the race. We will be strong tomorrow, no matter what."
Charles Zwolsman #34 Mi-Jack Conquest Racing Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone -- "The first part it seemed that the beginning of the session was quicker than the second part of the session. We made a little adjustment to the car for the second part of it but it didn't pan out the way we hoped it would. We actually went quicker on the first set of tires but I was kind of hoping that we could improve on that. I'm half happy that nobody else improved at the end and that I stayed in 11th. Nevertheless I was aiming for a top-ten and we didn't do that. (About the weather forecast for the race) Tomorrow is a long race and lately we have had a real good race car so I hope it stays dry because I have not yet driven in the rain in these cars."
Antonio Pizzonia #18 Team Brazil/Rocketsports Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone-- "It is unfortunate that I made a mistake this afternoon on my final lap of qualifying because I was on a good lap. I am told that the time I was running before my mistake in the hairpin would have put me in the top ten. So I know that we could have done better today, but at least we know we have a decent car for tomorrow's race. We will have to see what the weather brings for tomorrow, I am hearing that it might rain, so that will affect any changes we make to the #18 Team Brazil/Rocketsports car. It will be interesting for me if it does rain because I have absolutely no experience in a Champ Car in the rain. But we will see what tomorrow brings and hopefully have a good race."
Jan Heylen #11 The Muermans Car Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone -- "We didn't do too bad today. The car had good balance compared to yesterday. It is always good to beat your teammate, so I am very happy to have out run Mario (Dominguez) today. We could have done better. Half way through the practice and qualifying the radio quit working, so we had to communicate with the pit board. There was a little bit of a miscommunication and they ended up calling me in a lap early on the last set of tires. I was only a tenth behind the two guys in front of my and I am sure I could have made possibly two tenths up."
Mario Dominguez #19 Sonny's Bar-B-Q Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone-- "Today was not what we were hoping for. It is a bit disappointing we were not able to qualify any better than P15. Hopefully tomorrow we can work on some of the issues we had today and have a better result in the race tomorrow."
Katherine Legge #20 Bell Micro Ford-Cosworth/Lola/ Bridgestone -- "Qualifying definitely did not go according to plan for the Bell Micro -- PKV Racing team and I don't think I have ever been this far off the pace. My teammate (Oriol Servia) is pretty quick, the car feels good and that makes it even more frustrating and confusing why we are slow. I am thinking positively because it looks like it is going to rain tomorrow, which would be great because I like driving in the rain. But, the other half side of me just wants to get it figured out."
Nicky Pastorelli #8 Curacao/Rocketsports Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone-- "I was able to learn the track yesterday and this morning, so I was feeling quite comfortable for this afternoon's qualifying session. It has also been a great help having Antonio (Pizzonia) as my teammate, since he has raced on this track before. I feel that the speed on the #8 Curacao/Rocketsports car is good. It is just a shame that we broke a drive shaft during qualifying after running only three laps because I feel that we could have possibly had a good qualifying result this afternoon. The Rocketsports guys did a great job fixing the #8 car, but with only a few minutes left in the session we decided not to go out because we would have only gotten to run two laps and we thought it would be smart to just save the tires. I hear that it is supposed to rain tomorrow, so that might make the race very interesting. I just hope we can have a good, safe, and clean day tomorrow and finish with a positive result."
