After a strong morning practice session, rookie A.J. Allmendinger drove the #10 Western Union car to the top of the time sheets and held it for nearly the first half of today's provisional qualifying. As times began to drop, the #10 RuSPORT crew went out for the last stint, but a red flag brought an end to the qualifying session with more than four minutes left. Allmendinger is now looking forward to tomorrow's qualifying and is optimistic he has a shot at continuing is pole streak here at Montreal. A.J. has qualified on pole and won at the Circuit Gilles-Villenueve both in 2001 and 2002 in the Barber Dodge Pro Series and Toyota Atlantic Series, respectively.

A.J. Allmendinger

"I'm fairly pleased with today's qualifying. Anytime you qualify in the top five, it is a good qualification. The car is good and has really good balance. We know of a couple of things we can adjust to make it faster, and I know the spots where I'm losing time and can drive smoother. So we're starting from a good base and we know where to go, so I'm looking forward to tomorrow."

Carl Russo, Team Owner

"It was another top-five qualifying effort for A.J. He and the crew again demonstrated good speed with the #10 Western Union car. We believe that we may have a little more speed to gain for tomorrow, so we're looking forward to Saturday's session."

Michel Jourdain Jr. and the #9 Gigante crew had a successful morning practice session before today's provisional qualifying for the Molson Indy Montreal. Coming into this weekend as the defending race champion, Jourdain is looking to secure a top qualifying position and today he delivered another top-ten effort.

Michel Jourdain Jr.

"We have been struggling with the balance of the car a lot. We did some changes after this morning's practice session and they didn't work as we expected. We're now going to figure out what direction we need to go for changes to improve for tomorrow and take advantage of how close the times finished up today."

Carl Russo, Team Owner

"Michel delivered another top-ten qualifying result. Michel has demonstrated he can race to the front and we're looking forward to tomorrow and helping him move further up the grid in starting position for a strong finish on Sunday."
