After making his best career Champ Car start on the front row for today's Molson Indy Montreal, rookie A.J. Allmendinger was collected in a first lap incident heading into Turn 2. A hit in the rear left the #10 car with a punctured left rear tire. The RuSPORT crew went to work and quickly returned A.J. to the hunt. Allmendinger charged skillfully back to the front of the pack before a racing incident involving Sebastien Bourdais for the lead set Allmendinger back after serving a penalty. In the end, A.J. never gave up and went on to garner his sixth top-ten finish of the season. Allmendinger also extends his Rookie of the Year lead to 159 over Justin Wilson's 131.

A.J. Allmendinger

"I'm happy with how I drove today. I think it was my best drive so far in a Champ Car, but I'm pretty disappointed with the result on the sheets. My crew just did an awesome job and my car was really hooked up. It's too bad how things went and the end result won't show how good our performance was today. I will gladly take my top-five and look forward to Laguna Seca."

Carl Russo, Team Owner

"It was a heck of a race. A.J. had his best start of the season, but that all ended on Turn 2, owing to the first lap muddle when A.J. was hit from the rear and received a punctured tire. After changing the tire, A.J. repeatedly drove back to the front as we were on a different fuel strategy. I believe if A.J. hadn't been involved in the racing incident with Sebastien Bourdais, we would have easily finished third. As it was, finishing fifth shows an outstanding recovery from a difficult start."
