ANDREW RANGER JUMPS UP TO SEVENTH ON FINAL LAP IN THE FIRST ROUND OF QUALIFYING IN MONTREAL; ZWOLSMAN HAS TO SETTLE FOR 14TH

Montreal Quebec, August 25, 2006 -- The crowd at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve were able to admire the new Wal-Mart paint scheme on the Mi-Jack Conquest Racing #27 car driven by Quebec-native Andrew Ranger as he took to the track this morning in the first practice session as well as this afternoon in the final round of qualifying. The crowd not only admired the new paint scheme but also Ranger's driving as he placed himself in seventh position on the provisional grid for Sunday's race on his final lap of the session. His teammate at Conquest Racing, Charles Zwolsman, saw his fastest lap taken away for causing a red flag when he spun in turn two but still managed to put in a lap time good for 14th place on the provisional grid. The Dutchman will try and improve his starting position in the final round of qualifying that gets underway tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. eastern.

7th - Andrew Ranger #27 Wal-Mart Ford Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone

"I'm very satisfied with today's result, especially since we accomplished it without using the Bridgestone reds. The team like usual is working extremely hard and it is paying dividends. The car is really good but somehow today we kept losing a lot of time in the hairpin so we have to solve that for tomorrow's final qualifying. Tomorrow will be another day with the track having more rubber down and more grip, and I hope to do as well if not better tomorrow."

14th - Charles Zwolsman #34 Mi-Jack Conquest Racing Ford Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone

"I had a little spin in turn two which caused my fastest lap to be taken away. I think we had a good car before that. Then we made a change that didn't work as well as we would have liked but I'm still confident for tomorrow. The car is good and our position in this session doesn't show where we really stand. (About the track) The track has improved from this morning, it was very slippery, but it is getting better and better so by race day it should be good."
