Car No. 55
Status: Running, -3 laps
* Today was Mario's fifth Champ Car start.

"Well, I guess I just got a really bad break. On the first lap, Jourdain spun ahead of me but I thought I was through without a problem. Then Townsend (Bell) spun right in the middle of the track in front of me and there was no room for me to go around him. While I was sitting there, Fernandez crashed into me and our cars got stuck together. So we had to wait for the Sa]fety Team to come and sort it all out and get us going again. By that time I was two laps down so the race was really over for me. We didn't have much damage to the car - I had a flat right front tire and the handling was a bit strange so I'm sure the car got bumped out of alignment in all of that. We knew we were out of contention for the day but we stuck it out - I kind of treated it as a practice race. Every lap of experience is good for me and it gave me the opportunity to practice pit stops too. It's frustrating, yes, but you have to make the best of it."
Mario will make a quick trip to Mexico City for a press conference at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez on Tuesday before returning to the US on Wednesday.
Round six of the CART FedEx Championship Series will be contended next weekend at the two-mile PIR road course. This will mark the third event in three weeks.
