Tracy wins in Milwaukee
WEST ALLIS, Wis. - Paul Tracy earned his 19th career victory, and the first for Team KOOL Green in 2002, with a dominant performance in today's Miller Lite 250 at The Milwaukee Mile. Tracy started from the outside of the front row and immediately charged into the lead when the green flag waved, leading a total of 182 race laps, including the first 114. Adrian Fernandez finished second while Max Papis was third.
The win also added $24,000 to the Team KOOL Green /100 Black Men of America partnership program, including a bonus of $10,000 for the race win. The partnership, which is based on the team's pit stop performances, provides funds the 100's urban technology program. TKG completed six pit stops in less than 12 seconds during today' race earning $14,000, the maximum available for today's race.
Tracy's teammate Dario Franchitti ran with the leaders most of the race, but retired on lap 189 after getting caught up in the marbles and making contact with the outside wall. He was credited with 12th place.
The victory vaulted Tracy from 15th to 3rd in the CART FedEx Championship Series point standings with 32 points. Michel Jourdain leads with 42, while Franchitti sits second with 35.
Paul Tracy - #26 KOOL Honda-Lola-Bridgestone
"I told my crew that I haven't won a race in a week and they came through here. Team KOOL Green did a great job today, Honda gave us a powerful engine and the Bridgestone tires were excellent. The whole team has had a lot of motivation since Japan and our switch to theLola chassis. The car handled really well today, we only made one small change all race. I hope this gets the ball rolling for the rest of the CART season. If you count the Indy 500 we've had three really good races in a row and we're looking forward to winning some more."

Barry Green, Team Owner
"This is an awesome day for the Team KOOL Green. After running so well at last weekend's Indy 500 and then to turn around in just a few days, get focused on this event and these cars, and then to perform so well at the Milwaukee Mile is just fantastic. You have to have a good set up to win around here and the only change on Paul's car was a half turn of front wing. Paul drove a great race and the Team KOOL Green crew gave him three wonderful pit stops. I think competing in the Indy 500, then turning around and coming up here, that is the real test of a team and that just shows how great Team KOOL Green is. With the workload we've put on the crew right now, this is just fantastic. This is what the crew needs because there is no room for rest if you look at our schedule. This will just make that hard work a little bit easier."
Dario Franchitti - #27 KOOL Honda-Lola-Bridgestone
"On the restart I moved a little bit outside Christian (Fittipaldi) and then got caught up in the marbles. I'm pretty upset about it, it was my mistake for going out there fast, but the car was good on cold tires. Team KOOL Green was doing great, we were in the top five most of the day and were able to keep up with the leaders. I had asked on an earlier yellow that the marbles be cleaned off because we were running on a one-line racetrack, but CART pretty much ignored me. I think they cleaned the track after that but it was just a little too late for me. We certainly had a good car, maybe not quite as good as Paul's, but he did a great job out there too."
