WEST ALLIS, Wis. - Cheers erupted from the grandstands at The Milwaukee Mile as Team KOOL Green driver Paul Tracy posted the second quickest time during Saturday's single car qualifying for Sunday's Miller Lite 250. Tracy's teammate Dario Franchitti will line up ninth.
Tracy, who was greeted by a roaring crowd of supporters, marked a fast lap of 167.314 mph (22.205 seconds) around the 1.032-mile midway through the qualifying session, and remained at the top of the grid until Adrian Fernandez, on the final lap of qualifying for the day, narrowly edged him off the pole by .029 seconds (167.532 mph, 22.176 seconds). Patrick Carpentier will start third with a speed of 166.422 mph (22.324 seconds). Franchitti marked a 165.502 (22.448).
Tomorrow's schedule opens with warm-up at 9:00 a.m. CDT and will be followed by the Miller Lite 250 at 11:45 a.m. The race will be broadcast live on CBS starting at 12:30 p.m. EDT.
Paul Tracy - #26 KOOL Honda-Lola-Bridgestone
"We made a shock change to the front and rear. It was kind of a shot in the dark but it made the rear of the KOOL car pretty stable, which is something I haven't had all weekend. If we can improve again a bit in the morning we should have a pretty good race car. We had a good run. We're here looking for the win and I always want to do the best I can for Team KOOL Green, so it would be nice to get a win again here. It feels good to have the crowd behind me, I've had great support from all the fans all weekend. The cheers from the grandstands after I pulled in from qualifying were really great; they make me feel like I'm the people's champion."

Dario Franchitti - #27 KOOL Honda-Lola-Bridgestone
"We had a good car this morning, but we went away from that setup trying to find a bit more speed, and the car was pushing into the middle of the corner and nervous coming off. I think we'll go back to where we were to get ready for tomorrow and the Team KOOL Green crew will make some small changes for the forecasted weather conditions (cooler). We should be fine for the race. This oval is a lot different than Motegi, so we couldn't really apply the information we gained there. We'll use the information we've been acquiring on this car over the past couple of days and go with it."
