McDonald's Driver Bourdais Qualified Second for Time Warner Cable Road Runner 250 at The Milwaukee Mile; Pacificare Driver Junqueira 10th

Sebastien Bourdais, No. 2 McDonald's Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone: "The McDonald's car wasn't sliding on all four wheel but it felt close. It wasn't a perfect run but it was safe enough to put us up front. It was my first single car qualifying on a one-mile oval since qualifying was rained out here last year. Last year we put on a bad show. It was a miserable weekend and we had terrible cars here. I saw my teammate crash and it gave me a terrible feeling. I was so glad when the race was over. We made a big gain in the test at the beginning of May and it showed today. Both the PacifiCare car and the McDonald's car looked pretty good. It will be a long race with a minimum of four stops. I'm not trying to win, we're just setting our goal for a top-five finish and we'll be happy."

* FAST FACTS: Will be his second race here. Qualifying was rained out in 2003 and the drivers started the race based on practice times. Bourdais started 13th and was forced to pit prior to the start of the race due to an overheating engine. He finished ninth...Leads the point standings for the first time in his Champ Car career with 62 points over Bruno Junqueira, 57, and Paul Tracy, 49.

Bruno Junqueira, No. 6 PacifiCare Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone: "The car was very loose. I was trying to keep from crashing. I think the PacifiCare car could have been P2 but not P1 but the car just went loose. Sebastien used my setup but maybe had less wing and ran a much better time. I should have gone much, much faster but I'm not sure why the car went so loose. The race will be really difficult but I will just have to hang around and wait for an opportunity."

* FAST FACTS: Will be his fourth race here. Qualifying was rained out in 2003 and the drivers started the race based on practice times. Junqueira started eighth but crashed on the first racing lap. Started fifth in 2002, led four laps and finished 10th in 2002. Started 12th in his rookie race here in 2001 and finished fourth.

* NEWMAN/HAAS RACING FACTS: NHR has won SIX races at this track (Michael Andretti 1996, 1992, 1991; Paul Tracy 1995; Nigel Mansell 1993; Mario Andretti 1985) and ONE pole (Ma. Andretti 1985). They have earned a total of 11 podium finishes (2nd - Mi. Andretti 2000, 1997, 1989; 3rd - Mi. Andretti 1995, Ma. Andretti 1991).

ON THE SCHEDULE TOMORROW: The pre-race warm-up session will take place from 4:00-4:30 PM CST and the race is set to start at 8:00 PM and will be televised live on HDNet at 9:00 PM EST or can be seen on a tape delayed basis on Spike at 4 p.m. PT / ET on Sunday.
