Milwaukee (WI) - June 4, 2004 - Brazilian Champ Car driver Mario Haberfeld (Walker Racing) will start from the 15th position at tonight's Milwaukee Grand Prix. Despite the disappointing grid placement, the driver is somewhat encouraged for this evening's event. "We had a good practice session in the afternoon, driving on a full tank and simulating race conditions", said Haberfeld, adding that "unfortunately, we could not translate that into a better qualifying session."

According to the Brazilian, the car set-up had been good coming into Friday's qualifying session, but the Ford/Reynard/Bridgestone equipped car was "loose" during the two laps that mattered most. "The back end of the car kept sliding outwards on the curves, so I tried to get the most I could out of it without risking losing control and ending my night against the wall", said Haberfeld.

Saturday's race is the only one this season run on an oval circuit, and the grid position is not so much of a factor. "On tracks such as this, there is a lot of passing, so as long as you have a good car and stay out of trouble, I think anyone is capable winning the event" concluded the Brazilian.
