Justin happy but frustrated with 4th at Milwaukee
Justin continued his steady streak of strong drives with a 4th place finish at the Milwaukee Mile oval. After qualifying 3rd Justin stayed in the top three for most of the race and posted the 2nd fastest lap time, but he lost valuable momentum in lapped traffic and in the end had to settle for 4th. This was Justin's fourth consecutive 4th place finish and his consistent pace over the opening races in 2005 pushes him up to 2nd in the Champ Car Drivers Championship.
After the race Justin reflected on his satisfaction with another top five finish, but frustration at not being able to join team-mate and 2nd place finisher A.J. Allmendinger on the podium. 'The car has been good all weekend and was right there for pretty much the whole race. I know we at least had a third place car, but both A.J. and I got really held up by the slower, lapped traffic. A.J. would get held up first and the guys behind me would catch me. Then A.J. would get by and I'd have to deal with it again. That's definitely what cost us the podium. It was very frustrating. There were two back-markers into Turn 2 at one point that were having their own issues and were so slow I nearly ran into the back of one. I'm happy with another top finish, but frustrated because it could have been a double podium for us.'
Justin and the RuSPORT squad now head to Portland, Oregon for Round 4 of the Series on Sunday 19th June. After last year's duel between Justin and A.J., and with the RuSPORT squad's current pace, everyone's expecting a great race.
