Mario Dominguez - Driver, Car 55
"The Milwaukee Mile is a track I really like - I've always been fast there and really enjoy the track. I think it's going to be an especially interesting and fun event this year for the fans since it will be a night race for the first time. Running at night will create great ambience for the fans... and unique challenges for the engineers. The set up for the car will be very interesting since we'll be running at different times of the day and night. As the air temperature changes, the density of the air changes as well and the car behaves differently. Combined with the new rules for this year, which give us a lot more downforce, the fans should be expecting a great race. Our goal is to finish on the podium again this week. We've been fast everywhere this season and the results are starting to come too. Right now, we have to look at the big picture and a podium finish will really help with our championship hopes."
Roberto Moreno - Driver, Car 4
"There are three things that are making me really look forward to returning to The Milwaukee Mile. First we are going to be racing with a lot more downforce than in previous years. For a long time we've wanted to bring back the great side by side racing that Champ Cars are known for on ovals. With the configuration we will have this year it will give the cars a lot more downforce and grip so the racing should be great. Second, The Milwaukee Mile may be an old circuit with 100 years of history but there is nothing like it in the rest of the world. We have heard that a lot of improvements have been to the track area so I'm really looking forward to seeing all of that. Last, but not least, I'm very excited about the new challenge presented by racing at night under the lights. It should be very exciting for the fans... and for the drivers too!"
1. Moreno has seven previous starts at Milwaukee. His best qualifying position was seventh in 2000 and his best finish (also in 2000) was fifth. While Dominguez has only one Champ Car start at The Milwaukee Mile (2002; start 16th finish 17th, mechanical), he owns two podium finishes at The Mile during his Indy Lights career (3rd in 2000 and 2nd in 2001).
2. The Milwaukee Mile Centennial 250 presented by Miller Lite will mark the first time in CART history that the Champ Cars have run at night. In order to make this possible, Musco Lighting has installed 1.3 million watts of temporary fixtures to light up this historic venue.
