The Milwaukee Mile welcomes the return of CART Champ Car racing with the first ever night race tobe held this Saturday night at the historic track. The Fittipaldi-Dingman Racing team made the drive up from Indianapolis today and is setup and ready to hit the track tomorrow.

Rookie driver Tiago Monteiro is looking forward to the event. Coming off his first ever oval in Germany, the young Portuguese pilot has had some experience with night races, but never an oval at night. "My only experiences of night races are the two 24 hours of Le Mans in 1999 and 2001" he said. "It's a pretty interesting experience. I heard Milwaukee is going to be the biggest night show on earth! So it really should be amazing. I'm really looking forward to it"

"Milwaukee is another great event for CART,"commented team owner Emerson Fittipaldi. "It's one of the most traditional tracks in the US, being the oldest event after Indy. To run in Milwaukee Saturday night under the lights will be very exciting to watch. I think this will be a breakthrough event for CART and a great show for TV. The track is a one mile oval and you must be very aggressive there because lap times are going to be around 20 seconds. With 15 of those seconds in cornering and only 5 seconds on the straightaway to relax, this will be a very demanding race".

The Milwaukee Mile 250 will be broadcast live on Speed at 8:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on Saturday, May 31, 2003.
