Rookie, Charles Zwolsman experienced the first oval qualifying session of his career by registering a time of 22.237 seconds. "Since yesterday we have been having oil pressure problems and it cost us some valuable time on track because we had to change the motor twice. We were constantly improving and when we found something good, we had to stop because of the recurring problem. For qualifying, I would have liked to do better, but the race is 225 laps and anything can happen. Last year I was quick during the race until I hit the wall so I hope that the car will be as good as last year and that we can gain some positions and pick up the extra point again."

"The format we use for qualifying is quite challenging, but fun. You really have to charge to put in two quick laps and try to get everything out of them. I would have preferred to qualify later but my last lap during practice did not count this morning and that would have allowed us to do that. Our qualifying times were okay, but there is still more in the car and in me. Tomorrow will be a long race and my goal is to finish the race as high as possible."
