Mid Ohio and Miller Extend Relationship

(August 11, 1998) - Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and Miller Brewing Company have announced a new three year agreement that will continue the company's status as title sponsor of the CART FedEx Championship Series race weekend through 2001 at the 2.25-mile, 13-turn permanent road course in Lexington, Ohio.

Miller Brewing Company has served as title sponsor of the Mid-Ohio CART event since 1994. Additionally, Miller will maintain its status as the official beer of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course through the new extension.

"Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course is extremely pleased to continue this relationship with Miller Brewing Company. Miller has been a worldwide leader in promoting motorsports but more specifically CART racing. Miller has played a significant role in the tremendous growth that the CART race weekend at Mid-Ohio has experienced," stated Michelle Trueman Gajoch, president of Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

"Mid-Ohio is one of the premier permanent road courses in the country, and we are extremely pleased to be able to continue our relationship with the track," said Mike Welsh, Miller's Director of Event Marketing. "Our partnership with Mid-Ohio has provided Miller with an opportunity to be associated with one on Ohio's marquee sporting events."

Opened in 1962, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course hosted CART racing for the first time in 1980. The 1998 event marks the 16th consecutive year that Champ Cars have visited the scenic road course and the 17th time overall.
