JOURDAIN'S CAR IS DISQUALIFIED

Herdez-backed driver Michel Jourdain Jr. had to endure the news that his car was disqualified after technical inspection, because underweight. Michel was very disappointed and decided not to give further comments about this issue. His best lap was 32.25 seconds.

Michel Jourdain Jr., Car #19 Herdez/Payton-Coyne Racing Team: "I was all the time pushing the throttle, but we have too much drag and it stops the car in the turns. The car also developed some push, but the main problem was definitely too much downforce."

Antonio Marron, Motorsports Director of the Herdez/Payton-Coyne Racing Team: "The Lola chassis is very competitive in short ovals, but it is still under development for the superspeedways. We already knew that it was going to be a disadvantage. Regardless the above inconvenience and the unfortunate disqualification, tomorrow's race will be a long race and many drivers in the past have gained enough positions to even get the winner's circle. Hopefully this will happen to us as well."
