JOURDAIN JR. TESTS IN SEBRING
Herdez-Viva Mexico! Team driver Michel Jourdain Jr. will fly this Monday to Miami, to test on Tuesday and Wednesday at Sebring. Jourdain Jr. has tested in the past on the above track, but this will be the first time he does so in Sebring with his new package: Lola/Ford-Cosworth/Firestone, which will be used for the 1999 FedEx Championship Series season.
Michel Jourdain Jr., Car #19 Herdez-Viva Mexico! Team: "I feel highly motivated for the '99 season and I think we will do it well. In the two previous testings with the new package at Homestead in November and December, last year, the car showed a lot of potential and if we keep working hard, hopefully this will pay off in order to start the season with a high note.
"At Sebring we will testing during two days (January 12 and 13). Then we will go to Homestead for a two-day testing session (January 15 and 16). After that will fly to Mexico City and few days later we will have the launch of the team at the autodromo Monterrey, which is located at the north of Mexico. This will be on January 26 and 27. The previous testings launching the team in Mexico ('97 & '98), were held at the autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City, but this time we want to get closer to the fans in the north of the country," he added.
Antonio Marron, director of the Herdez-Viva-Mexico! Team: "The Herdez-Viva Mexico! Team is working hard to give its best performance ever during the 1999 FedEx Championship Series season. This time Michel (Jourdain Jr.) will have more testing previous the start of the season than ever. Also, Lola Ltd. is giving us a lot of support and this will be a key factor in our performance during 1999. Michel (Jourdain Jr.) every year is gaining more points and for sure, this time he will get more than the five achieved in the '98 season."
