JOURDAIN JR. TESTS IN SEBRING

Herdez-Viva Mexico! Team driver Michel Jourdain Jr., who was unable to test yesterday in Sebring due to a problem in his stomach, finally was able to do so today. The Mexican driver, who feels much better from his sickness, was happy to be again in the cockpit of his Herdez-Viva Mexico!/Lola/Ford-Cosworth/Firestone Champ Car.

Michel Jourdain Jr., Car #19 Herdez-Viva Mexico! Team: "I feel much better today, though I am not fully recovered. Happily, I felt good enough to test. Today we were working on springs and wings, mainly focused on suspension. We had a good test. Unfortunately, tomorrow we will fly home and we will not test until the Spring Training, which take place on February 2, 3 & 4."

The testing scheduled on January 15 & 16 at the Miami-Dade Homestead Motorsports Complex in Homestead, Florida was canceled due to the tire supplier Firestone is working on the new tires for the 1999 FedEx Championship Series season and at the moment, only can supply a different compound that the one used in previous testings.

Thus, Michel Jourdain Jr. will spend a few days in Mexico before attending Spring Training and soon after, he will be the official launch of the Herdez-Viva Mexico! Team at the autodromo Monterrey, located in the north of Mexico. This takes place on February 16 & 17.
