Mario Domínguez - Driver
"I touched the wall and did some damage to the car - a cracked steering arm, I think. The crew replaced it right there in pit lane so I could continue but by the time it was replaced, we had lost quite a bit of time. The red flag at the end really hurt us because I only got one timed lap in at the end. The track is pretty challenging - it's really slick in some spots as the surface changes but in other places you get quite a bit of grip."
Keith Wiggins - Managing Director
"This is a challenging event for a number of reasons. But the setting is really fantastic as we are right down on the waterfront. Miami is a great place to be from a marketing standpoint and for our sponsors. For me personally, I have to say that anywhere where I can walk to work and get a Starbucks on the way is okay with me!"
* Grand Prix Americas marks Domínguez's 16th start in the CART FedEx Championship Series.
* At the last event on the Rockingham oval in Corby, England, Dominguez started 18th and finished 13th despite two stop-and-go penalties assessed for pit stop window violations.
Final practice for the Grand Prix Americas will commence on Saturday morning at 9:50am ET followed by final qualifying at 1:15pm ET.
Television coverage of qualifying will air on SPEED Channel live from 1:30pm ET on Saturday afternoon. Live timing and scoring will be available online at www.cart.com.
