Team Target trio travels south to Miami; team looking for 4th pole in last 5 events.

Indianapolis, IN - The Team Target triumvirate travels south to sunny Miami, Florida this weekend to compete in the inaugural Grand Prix Americas. Team Target has been on a qualifying hot streak, winning three out of the last four poles. The most recent coming at the last race in Rockingham, England, with Kenny Brack capturing the top qualifying spot. This weekend's race will take place on the challenging 1.5-mile temporary street circuit on the streets of downtown Miami.

Team Target is in pursuit of their fourth pole in the last five races this weekend in Miami. Junqueira grabbed the top spot in Road America and Denver and teammate Kenny Brack qualified fastest in England. If the team can accomplish the feat, it will mark the first time in team history that drivers have won four poles in five races.

This weekend's race marks the third time in the last four races that the CART FedEx Championship Series has competed on a new track. In Denver at the most recent inaugural event, second year pilot Bruno Junqueira dominated the event, winning the pole and leading all 100 laps en route to the victory. Junqueira, Miami's newest resident, is looking forward to racing in his new hometown.

"It's always exciting to race on a new track," said Junqueira. "I just moved to Miami this week, so now I can say that I'm racing at my home track. The good thing about racing on a new track is that no one has the advantage of racing on it before. We're all on a level playing field. The last new track that we raced on was Denver. And we won the pole and won the race, so we'll see what happens this weekend. We need to have a strong finish this weekend to stay close in the championship. We're not out of it yet, but we need some more podium finishes if we have any chance of winning it."

At the last event in Rockingham, England, Kenny Brack won his first pole of the season and the seventh of his career. Brack led 134 of the 211 laps in the event, but had to settle for an 8th place finish in event after a wheel nut fell from the tire during the last pit stop. Brack currently stands 3rd in laps led on the season and moved into 15th place on CART's all-time laps led list. With four races left on the schedule, the 36-year old Swede is hoping to finish the season on a positive note.

"It's important for us to end the season on a winning note," Brack explained. "We've had some, well I'll just say, disappointing races this year, to put it mildly. This is a team that can win every week, it's that good. We just haven't put everything together for a whole weekend this year. We won the pole at the last race over in England and I think that it gave the team a lot of confidence. Hopefully, that will help us in the last part of this season. We've had some fast cars on the street courses this season. I'm hungry for a win and I know that my team is also."

Teammate Scott Dixon scored his best finish of the season in Denver, finishing second to his Team Target mate, Bruno Junqueira. Dixon currently stands 10th in points, but is only 16 points out of 5th place. Dixon is looking forward to the challenge to racing on the streets of Miami.

"It's going to be important that we qualify well down there," Dixon said. "That goes for all of the street courses, but especially here. It looks pretty tight and track position is going to be very important. As I look back on this year so far, it's been pretty good overall. We've had several chances to get podium finishes and even a few wins.

We've been very competitive right from the start when I joined the team in June. We showed in Denver that we can compete with anybody and I feel that we'll be pretty good down in Miami as well."

Coverage of qualifying on Friday and Saturday can be seen on Speed Channel. The race can be seen live on CBS on Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m. EDT.

Scott Dixon - No. 44 Target Toyota/Lola/Bridgestone

"It was great to finally get a good result last weekend in Denver. It's been a while since I was on the podium and it felt great. We've got some momentum now heading to England. It should be a great race for the fans...as long as it doesn't rain. We have five races left this season and I want to win at least one race before the year is over. Team Target has given me good cars this year, especially on the ovals. I qualified 4th and

finished 6th in my first race with the team at Milwaukee. But I was running in second for a good portion of that race. I also finished 6th in Chicago this year, so I'm confident that I'll have a fast car when we get overseas."
