INDIANAPOLIS (July 22, 2003) -- When the streets of Miami, Florida roar to life September 26-28 in Bayfront Park with a full field of turbocharged Champ Cars, the Grand Prix Americas will be touting a new business partner in the form of Sportsbook.com. The Round 16 event on the Bridgestone Presents The Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford schedule announced recently that the second year race has tabbed the online gaming company as a presenting sponsor.

President and General Manager of Grand Prix Americas Chuck M. Martinez made the official announcement in Miami that the event will now be called the Grand Prix Americas presented by Sportsbook.com.

"We are elated to have an international publicly traded company such as Sportsbook.com become involved in our race," said Martinez. "This is an exciting time for us as race week nears. This partnership puts us one step closer to our goal of making the Grand Prix Americas one of the elite sporting events in the country."

Sportsbook.com, a progressive online gaming company, was founded in 1997 in the Caribbean and has since grown to become the industry leader. Now based in London, Sportsbook.com is publicly traded as part of the Sportingbet PLC Group, the largest online gaming company in the world.

"Sportsbook.com is excited to begin a long term relationship with CART and the Grand Prix Americas," said Sportsbook.com spokesperson Jeff Gilroy. "This is a key element of our auto racing program and I believe you will see more pro sports leagues and organizations working with Sportsbook.com in the near future."

Grand Prix Americas is a week-long festival featuring various social events such as the FanFest at Bayside, Grand Prix Americas Street Festival in Coconut Grove and the Grand Prix Americas Foundation Charity Ball and culminates with two of North America's premier racing series. On September 26-28, 2003 Bridgestone Presents The Champ Car World Series Powered By Ford will join the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) promoting a "dual-headline" that makes the Grand Prix Americas one of the foremost motorsports weekends of the year. This Blast by the Bay will be held in Downtown Miami at Bayfront Park in agreement with the City of Miami, the Bayfront Park Management Trust and the Miami Sports and Exhibition Authority.
