Hunter-Reay second quick in final qualifying, another strong run for American Spirit drivers.
JIMMY VASSER, #12 American Spirit/Ford-Reynard/Cosworth
JimmyVasser on the day: "We had a pretty good car yesterday. We attempted to improve it overnight and we screwed it up somewhere. We're going to spend some time tonight working on it to at least get it back to where it was Friday. The top three cars today were Reynard's, so we obviously don't have that handicap here. I am starting seventh tomorrow; I will be racing for a win."
RYAN HUNTER-REAY, #31 Gonher de Mexico/Ford-Reynard/Cosworth
Hunter-Reay on the day: "It's great to have the Gohner de Mexico car up front today. I know everyone always says this, but I truly had one heck of a lap going and I threw it away. The lap that turned out to be my fastest was actually six tenths faster going into the stadium and I went off the course and them back on again, it was still the lap that put me in second. I can't help feeling a bit disappointed because I am starting fifth and that front row really would have been great. Overall, we've got a good weekend going and I am looking forward to a strong result tomorrow. We have made strong progress all weekend and I think we've got a good shot at it."
Stefan Johansson, Team Owner: "We have to be pleased, both drivers have done a great job all weekend; Ryan was second quick this afternoon, which was fantastic. It is easy to get greedy when things go well. The #12 team missed it a bit on the set-up today, his car was clearly not as good today as it was yesterday, they will re-visit the set-up and have a better car tomorrow. Ryan had a really big lap going and we lost it, but he has been very consistent, he's done a great job and I am proud of him."
