The Marconi Grand Prix of Cleveland Presented by Firstar is the third event of six in seven weeks in the CART FedEx championship Series.  Lincolnshire, Ill., (northern suburb of Chicago) based Newman/Haas Racing was involved in the following to get to this weekend's event according to Jim Pellettiere, one of NHR's transport drivers:

Lincolnshire - Detroit - Lincolnshire - Portland - Lincolnshire - Cleveland 

<pre>                   Wednesday, June 13            Depart at 10 PM CT and drive for 6 hours to Detroit                         (650 miles) arriving at 3:00 AM ET.

Sunday, June 17                   Depart at 7:00 PM ET after race and drive for 6 hours to Lincolnshire (650 miles) arriving at 1:30 AM CT.  (Team worked from 7:30 AM CT to 12 midnight.)

Tuesday, June, 19                   Depart shop at 12:00 AM CT (midnight) and drive    for 38 hours to Portland, Ore. (4304 miles).

Wednesday, June 20            Arrive in Portland at 3 PM PT and set-up in paddock.

Sunday, June 24                   Depart Portland at 8 PM PT after race and drive for 38 hours to race shop (4304 miles).

Tuesday, June 26                   Arrive to race shop at 11:00 AM CT.  (Team worked from 12 noon until 7:00 PM CT).

Wednesday, June 27 (Team worked from 7:30 AM CT to 8 PM CT.) Depart race shop at 8:00 PM CT for 7 hour drive to Cleveland (760 miles).

Thursday, June 28                   Arrive in Cleveland at 5:30 AM ET and begin unloading three transporters and setting up in paddock.

GALLONS OF FUEL NEEDED:        1,198 (per each of the three transporters) COST OF FUEL:                  $1, 776.16 (per each of the three transporters) MPG:                                    5-5.5 mpg TOTAL MILES:                    650 + 650 + 4,304 + 4,304 + 760 = 10,668                                 miles (not inc. 760 to get back to shop)

The goal for Fittipaldi and da Matta is to complete every mile of a race but the transporter drivers must first get the race cars to/from the shop.
