Dalziel Closes Birthday Weekend with a Top Ten Finish, Figge OK After Late Race Accident
Alex Figge #29 Imperial Capital Bank/DP01/Cosworth/Bridgestone
"I made a rookie mistake and got caught out by the turbo on the opening laps which set me behind throughout the race. I was working on passing Dan Clarke, I felt like I had a good rhythm going, we were turning consistently good lap times. I was coming into turn nine I clipped the apex of the curb and got unsettled, I missed the tires and went into the wall. I am fine, they gave me a few x-rays and everything is clear. I am definitely going to be sore for a few days, it was a big hit. I am really disappointed; I was hoping to give Imperial Capital Bank a great result on their home turf. It was a tough weekend, we had some problems yesterday morning that cost us almost the whole morning practice then brakes in the afternoon, but as I have said before we are learning and we'll keep pushing."
Ryan Dalziel #28 Ironclad/DP01/Cosworth/Bridgestone
"I am really happy. I think we all did a great job today and the Ironclad car was fantastic during the race. The guys gave me great stops and I think we doing a great job with our race craft but we need to work on qualifying. It wasn't easy, it was pretty much a sprint race out there, and it was tiring for sure. Overall though, we've made a lot of progress in one week's time, we've proven that we can contend for top-tens and we ran a mistake free race."
Tyler Tadevic, team director: "Most importantly, Alex is fine. We had a big weekend being our home race and the home race for our partners Imperial Capital Bank and Ironclad. As a team, I think we are developing well in all areas, we knew it was going to be tough and it is for sure. At the same time we are enjoying success through all of the facets of the team and Ryan's top-ten finish coupled with Alex's last week are a big part of that. The team did a great job all weekend; it isn't easy running three in a row, especially for a new group as we all find our rhythms. We are ready to turn our focus to Houston."
