Junqueira to start 4th and Bourdais 5th in Toyota GP of Long Beach.

BRUNO JUNQUEIRA, #1 PacifiCare Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone: "There was probably two to three-tenths of a second left in the PacifiCare car but I wasn't able to get a clear lap. On the first set of tires the car wasn't very good so we made some changes and the car improved on the second set of tires but I kept running into traffic and couldn't get the maximum out of the car or myself. It's disappointing because we really wanted to try to get the pole because it's PacifiCare's home race. Now we will just have to run a clean race, have good pit stops and try to get them a podium finish and maybe a win."

* NOTES: Will be his third race here. He started 3rd in the 2002 race and ran the fastest race lap but contact ended his day in 17th place. Started 28th in his rookie season and finished 9th.

SEBASTIEN BOURDAIS, #2 Lilly Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone: "We are disappointed not to get the pole again. Especially because we felt it was possible. When you start the season with two poles it is hard to improve on the position and you just try to keep doing it as long as possible. On the first set of tires, I didn't get a chance to put one good lap together but it was really my fault. The laps I ran were good in some parts of the track but not in others while I ran well in other parts of the track on the other laps. My second run was pretty good. I was on a flying lap but I locked up my left front tire and it resulted in an 108.6 lap. I had a little flatspot on my tire and didn't get a chance to improve because of a little traffic. The performance of the Lilly car was there but it is hard to have the right timing all of the time. It was hard to get a clear lap on the second set of tires. In looking at the lap times, it is good that we are as high as fifth place. It could have been worse and we could be farther down the starting order. Our starting spot is okay especially since it is a hard track."

* NOTES: This will be his first Champ car race here and third overall. Won the pole position in the two previous events so far this season. The only driver to have won the first three pole positions of the season was Mario Andretti in 1987 - with NHR. No rookie has even accomplished the feat. He is currently ranked 14th in the point standings with five points.

* TEAM NOTES: NHR has earned THREE WINS, SEVEN PODIUM finishes and SEVEN POLES here. (SEVEN PODIUM FINISHES - WINS by Ma. Andretti 1987, 1985, 1984; 2nd place finishes by da Matta 2001, Mansell 1994, Mi. Andretti 1989; 3rd place finish by Mansell 1993.) (POLES by Mi. Andretti 1995, Mansell 1993, Mi. Andretti 1992, Mi. Andretti 1991, Ma. Andretti 1987, Ma. Andretti 1985, and Ma. Andretti 1984.)

ON TAP FOR TOMORROW: The morning warm-up session will take place from 9:00-9:30 AM PT which will be followed by the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach at 1:00 PM PT. SPEED Channel will begin coverage with the 30- minute pre-race show which will be followed by the race telecast.
