LONG BEACH, CA-- APRIL 5, 2005 : MI-JACK Conquest Racing drivers; the young French driver Nelson Philippe on his second season with the MJCR, teamed with Canadian driver Andrew Ranger on his first season with Champ Car, will race on the The Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, April 8-10, on the streets of Long Beach, California. The race will be broadcast live on NBC. Mi-Jack Conquest Racing Team is looking forward to contesting its third season in the Champ Car World Series powered by Ford.
Nelson Philippe (Mi-Jack/Conquest Racing Lola-Ford #34)
Nelson Philippe on Long Beach: "I am well prepared for this race. I have an intensive exercise and fitness program. The goal is to build up my resistance. But because I am so young, I must be careful to keep long and thin muscles and not to over-exercise, which would be bad for me as I'm still growing. I love traveling. I have always traveled in my life as I always followed my parents's career. This is why I started racing in Argentina."
"I like the tough competition and the friendly contact with fans in Champ Car. Last year, I assessed my work with the team and my possibilities. This year I'm highly motivated. 2005, bring it on!"
Andrew Ranger (Mi-Jack/Conquest Racing Lola-Ford #27)
Andrew Ranger on Long Beach: "I know the track in Long Beach in which I finished second last year with Atlantic (started 5th), but now with Champ Car I have a lot more to learn. I practiced a lot of pit stops in Sebring, because this is something new for me. I need to put more speed on the pit. I've been training hard on my cardio because it is very tough with ChampCar, you have a lot of down force in the car and you come so fast in the corner. "
