Nelson Philippe (Mi-Jack/Conquest Racing Lola-Ford #34) Friday, April 8th, 2005

Nelson said: "This morning we went ahead with our test plan that the engineers come up with, we try many things -- some where good, some where not so good. It was hard to drive because the track changes a lot. First session was OK, we learn a little. By the afternoon, my car was difficult to drive, so we changed to Andrew's set-up, which was better, but not optimal. It was totally different for me, I only got one run. We are a bit disappointed, but I hope it will work better tomorrow. We will put all our effort for qualifying, because starting position is key here.

Andrew Ranger (Mi-Jack/Conquest Racing Lola-Ford #27) Friday, April 8th, 2005

Andrew said "This morning it was absolutely sensational to drive a ChampCar on the streets of Long Beach. What a difference from my car last year. I was out there all the time. I did more laps then anybody. It help me to work on the set-up of the car and get more grip. I'm really happy with 7th place in qualifying. Still have a lot to work for tomorrow. So many fans came to me; they remember me from last year podium"
