"I'm very, very pleased because we started off with a car I felt comfortable in and we're making small adjustments and improvements. We're taking little bits off the track with me as a driver and with the car. That session was perfect because we started with too much understeer, then David (Brown) made a change and put a new set of tires. We then went to a little bit of too much oversteer. We fixed the front and made the rear a little loose. That was great because we're making small gains. The car is not so far off that we have to do anything huge. I'm pleased to be in the top eight and I think we've got more to carve out."

David Brown, Senior Race Engineer
"Well I'm pleased. We didn't have any major problems. The car is a long way from being a good race car. We're not at the front, which means as RuSPORT we're not satisfied. We do think we can do better for tomorrow, so we'll get to work on that now."

Jeremy Dale, Team President
"I thought A.J. did a good job. It's his first qualifying session in Champ Car and this is something that he's been aiming for a long time, and it's somewhere we knew we were going with RuSPORT. Now we're doing it together. He certainly held up his end of the deal today, I'm not sure if we held up ours because we know he's capable of being further up the grid than he is. So we know we've got a lot of work to do, but hats off to the team for a solid job on our first day.
