"The start was pretty hectic but I managed to stay out of trouble and from there we progressed. We made excellent progress through the weekend and I think we were running close to the pace of the leaders. Unfortunately we had a problem [drivetrain] that took us out. It's unfortunate because I was looking forward to the second half of the race. I felt that would have been my strong part. I was really keeping the pace and trying to get the best use out of the car. Our day was a little too short. I gave my best contribution to Fernández Racing this weekend, and hopefully Adrián can use it next race."

"Overall I think we had a good race. At the beginning my car was really loose. I was struggling a lot with oversteer that first stint. After we adjusted the tire pressures, the feeling of the car was better. It wasn't perfect, but it was a good car. I just kept pushing and pushing. Most of the guys were running similar lap times and it was a very competitive race. I think qualifying positions decided everything for this race. The team did a good job and my engineer [Martin Paré] gave me a good car. We were struggling on Friday and Saturday. This morning we improved the car a lot. This is good experience for everybody as we go to Elkhart Lake."

Tom Anderson, Co-Owner/Managing Director:
"Starting 17th, there's no way Shinji could have finished any higher than he did. We just played the game straight today and that's what there was on the race track. I'm really pleased for Shinji and the group. On the #51 side, Max had a great day going for his first day back in a race in two months. We're really disappointed that there was some sort of drivetrain problem. The data doesn't really show what the problem was, so we are going to have to investigate it once we get the back of the car apart. I want to wish Adrián a speedy recovery, and we'll look forward to seeing him next weekend."
