RSPORTS IN THE TOP FIVE ON DAY ONE IN LAS VEGAS

LAS VEGAS, Nevada (April 6, 2007) -- Today officially kicked off the 2007 Champ Car World Series season, as RSPORTS did it in style rounding out the top five during the first round of qualifying for Sunday's Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Things were looking pretty positive right out of the box as Justin Wilson positioned the #9 CDW Cosworth/DP01/Bridgestone in the top three after the first practice session. During the one hour and ten minute session, Wilson was able to complete 13 laps around the 2.440-mile temporary circuit on the streets of downtown Las Vegas. He posted his best time of the morning on this 12 orbit, recording a 1:24.768 (103.624 mph).

Las Vegas resident Alex Tagliani also started his day off on the right note, sitting P6 after running 11 laps in the #8 LXN2 Cosworth/DP01/Bridgestone. Tagliani posted his best time of 1:25.559 (102.666 mph) during his ninth lap during the morning practice session.

The two were considerably pleased with their first practice results and spent the afternoon planning how they could make their cars even faster and more competitive.

Their hard work paid off with their showing of quicker laps times and an increase in speed during the afternoon session. Wilson and Tagliani finished the today's qualifying session fourth and fifth respectively. Wilson's fastest lap of the day was recorded on his tenth qualifying lap with a time of 1:20.310 (109.376 mph). Tagliani also posted his fastest lap of the day on his tenth lap this afternoon with a time of 1:20.437 (109.203 mph).

RSPORTS will have another practice session tomorrow morning beginning at 9:45 a.m. PDT before preparing for the final round of qualifying tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 p.m. local time. The inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix will take the green flag on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. PDT. The race will be broadcasted live on NBC with coverage beginning at 12:30 p.m. (3:00 p.m. EST). Justin Wilson #9 CDW Cosworth/DP01/Bridgestone
"I am pretty happy overall with today. The #9 CDW/RSPORTS car is feeling quite good. The morning went well for us as we finished the practice in the third spot. However, the afternoon did not go according to plan. While everyone else changed to the Option Bridgestone tires, we stayed on the standards. But I think we are in reasonable shape. We will keep working hard in hopes of earning the pole position tomorrow. I do not think that we are too far away, we just have to work out the last bits."

Alex Tagliani #8 Cosworth/DP01/Bridgestone
"I am very happy with the RSPORTS team. They have given me a great car. On the Black Bridgestone tires things were going well. I was running a tenth behind PT (Paul Tracy) in second during our first stint in qualifying. For the second run, we put on the Reds (Option Bridgestone tire) so that we could shot for the pole. But I ended up running in to a lot of traffic and I was not able to get in a good lap time. However, the #8 LNX2/RSPORTS car is definitely quick and I am very happy with it. It is great to open the season with such a positive run and being competitive. It is going to be a tough season because the competition is fierce, but I definitely think that we have a shot at being a top competitor this season."
