RHR Ready to Repeat in Las Vegas
Oval Domination: Heading into the series second oval race of the year on an oval, Hunter-Reay has high expectations. He dominated the first event at the Milwaukee Mile from start to finish, earning his and Herdez Compeition's his first pole position, and leading every lap of the race, setting a new Champ Car record for the most laps led in a single event.
Master of the Disciplines: It's been just over a year since Hunter-Reay stormed onto the Champ Car scene and he's already earned enviable success and set records along the way. Hunter-Reay has scored a podium finish in each of Champ Car's disciplines. He's won on the street circuit (Australia '03), he's won on the oval (Milwaukee '04) and he finished third on the demanding road course at Mid-Ohio ('03).
Vegas Test: Hunter-Reay and his Herdez Competition crew participated in the Champ Car open test last month at the super speedway; he set the fourth fastest time of the test.
RHR on the Superspeedway: This weekend's race at Las Vegas Motorspeedway will be Hunter-Reay's second on a Superspeedway. His first sample of a large oval was at the Eurospeedway in 2003. He adjusted quickly and ran in the top ten through most of the event.
Ryan on Las Vegas: "I very much look forward to the race, especially because of our success at Milwaukee. We had a very strong test at Las Vegas Motor Speedway last month and everyone on the team is really optimistic. The Las Vegas Motor Speedway is a great facility and a fast track. It's Going to be a great event overall, having a night race in Vegas is a fantastic addition to our series. There is no better way to do a high profile race, particularly as we will be partnering with NASCAR."
