* Note: The car of Michel Jourdain Jr. failed post-qualifying technical inspection, disallowing the day's fastest time and removing him from the pole for Sunday's race. Jourdain's car was found to have been underweight, causing his Saturday time of 1:09.530 to be taken off the books, making Patrick Carpentier's effort the fastest of the day.

Mario Dominguez - Driver, Car 55
Grid Position: 11th

"To be honest, I'm not very happy with the result today. I thought we had a good car for qualifying but when I went out for the session, the whole balance of the car had changed - it was very hard to drive. I don't know what happened; why it's so different from this morning. We gave it our best shot but it just wasn't enough."

Fast Fact:
The Grand Prix of Monterey will be Dominguez's 26th Champ Car start.

Roberto Moreno - Driver, Car 4
Grid Position: 9th

"First I want to thank my crew. They did an awesome job putting the car back together after the mistake I made this morning. I feel like we really gave it ten-tenths today; really got the maximum potential out of the car as it is now. We'll make some fine adjustments to it now to try to increase that potential for tomorrow. All in all, I felt it was a good run."

Fast Fact:
The Grand Prix of Monterey will be Moreno's 108th Champ Car start overall and his eighth start at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
