Herdez-backed driver Michel Jourdain Jr. again achieved points during the Honda Indy 300 race, after last year he was 12th and in this race he was 7th. So far, this is his best result in the FedEx Championship Series during this season and he matched his best ever finish, which came last year in Elkhart Lake.

The Mexican driver, who started from the 16th spot, had a consistent performance finishing the race within the leader's lap taking six points to his credit. Also, Jourdain Jr. was the best driver with a Mercedes-Benz engine and second best with a Lola chassis.

Michel Jourdain Jr., Car #16, Herdez/Bettenhausen Motorsports: "I am very happy because we achieved a good result. My chassis was great. Unfortunately, they shortened the race to 59 laps (the 65-lap race was shortened, because of the two-hour limit). If not, some guys would have had to pit and that would've given us at least three positions further to the front. However, the most important thing is that we were competitive and we got some points."

Keith Wiggins, General Manager, Herdez/Bettenhausen Motorsports: "We had a good fuel strategy, which went very well. The driver and the chassis performed well and we are happy with the result."
