A long, hot day for Michel Jourdain Jr. at the Target Grand Prix ended with a spin on pit road and contact with the wall as he entered for his third and final pit stop of the race. It was Jourdain's second spin of the day as he had spun in turn 2 with no contact just at the halfway point, bringing out the first caution period and putting him down three laps to the leaders.

Jourdain was uninjured in the incident though he was taken to the CART Medical Center for a check and for treatment of blisters on his hands and left heel.

Michel Jourdain, Jr.
"I don't know what happened. Both times when I spun the car I hadn't done anything different - I just got on the brakes and the back of the car came around. I had a bad vibration in the car the last few laps before I spun both times but I don't know what was causing it."

The CART FedEx Championship Series takes a one-week hiatus before round 13, the Miller Lite 200 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio.
