A chain reaction accident just after the green flag took Michel Jourdain Jr. out of today's Marconi Grand Prix of Cleveland. The turn one incident, involving four cars, caused unrepairable damage to the rocker in the right rear suspension of Jourdain's Lola and also to the car of Patrick Carpentier. Tony Kanaan was able to continue after contact.

After a one-weekend break, the Champ Cars return to action on July 13-15 at the Molson Indy Toronto on the streets of beautiful Toronto, Canada.

Michel Jourdain, Jr.

"When I arrived at turn one, Tony (Kanaan) and Patrick (Carpentier) were already together. I tried to go around their crash but then someone hit me and pushed me off. I was just trying to avoid what was going on in front of me, but it didn't work out."
