HVM Racing Enters Into Partnership with Cedric The Entertainer

Indianapolis, IN (October 6, 2005) - The immensely popular film star and comedian, Cedric The Entertainer, has entered into an exciting partnership with HVM Racing which will see the #4 HVM car running under the "CTE Racing -- HVM" banner in the remaining 2005 Champ Car World Series events and will be the umbrella title for all HVM cars from the start of the 2006 season.

Cedric will attend many of the 2006 races but will also play an important behind the scenes role with marketing and promotional support aimed at improving the team's sponsorship base. His presence will further enhance the HVM profile and is aimed at enabling the team to be certain of running at the front of the field and to lay the groundwork for further expansion.

Cedric is enthusiastic about this new project, "I am really excited about mixing my celebrity status with the thrilling world of Champ Car auto racing. CTE Racing is going to kick some ass in a way that is fun, exciting and extremely fast -- so watch out."

Keith Wiggins, HVM's Managing Director, comments: "This is a hugely exciting new venture and a great business platform for both parties. This is the right timing and right partner to take the company to the next level and opens up a host of opportunities in many directions. Cedric is a very popular and likeable guy and we all feel confident in achieving stimulating goals!"

Cedric The Entertainer has many career successes spanning television, live performances and film. While this is his first venture in racing, he is familiar with the sports community with USA Today dubbed him as "Madison Avenue's Most Valuable Player" following the 2001 Super Bowl when Cedric's Bud Light "The Date" commercial claimed the #1 commercial spot, witnessed by 144 million viewers.

Other notable accolades include a record-breaking win of four consecutive NAACP Image Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for his portrayal of the lovable "Coach Cedric Robinson" on the WB's #1-rated sitcom The Steve Harvey Show, which ran for six seasons. In 1994, he received the Richard Pryor Comic of the Year Award from Black Entertainment Television. From 1997 through 2000, he traveled across the country as one of the headliners of the super successful Kings of Comedy Tour (the top-grossing comedy tour in history, earning more than $37 million). His film, The Original Kings of Comedy, is based on that tour.

In addition to his stand-out performances in the Barbershop movies, Cedric most recently starred in Be Cool, Madagascar, the Honeymooners and Johnson's Family Vacation and has recently completed filming The Cleaner in Vancouver.

Beyond his career success, Cedric has founded The Cedric The Entertainer Charitable Foundation, Inc., which contributes financial aid to inner city communities through scholarships and outreach programs to enhance the lives of youth and families in his hometown of St. Louis.

Since its inception in 2001, HVM has enjoyed early success, scoring race victories in three consecutive seasons in the worlds most diverse and challenging racing series, The Champ Car World Series.

In 2002, just their second year of competition, HVM scored their inaugural victory in front of 306,184 roaring race fans on the streets of Surfers Paradise, Australia and 2003 brought continued success with three podium finishes and a dominating one -- two finish in Miami.

HVM set a new record in 2004 with their pole to flag victory at Milwaukee to become the team to lead the most laps in a single event and finished the Championship year with an impressive fifth overall in one of the most competitive years ever.

Also in 2004, HVM was officially ranked number one in team broadcast exposure. In addition, it more than doubled this exposure away from the track with marketing events; including its spectacular drive and pit-stop of two race cars through rush hour traffic on New York's Fifth Avenue in support of a partner product launch.

With more than 2.2 million people attending Champ Car races annually and a massive worldwide audience, HVM also offers a range of proven marketing and advertising platforms to enhance the business of its corporate partners. For more information on HVM and its partners, visit
