HEWLETT-PACKARD EXTENDS TEAM RAHAL TECHNICAL PARTNERSHIP

MONTEREY, Calif. -- Hewlett-Packard Company has extended its associate sponsorship agreement with CART FedEx Championship Series competitors Team Rahal for two additional seasons. Their technical partnership, which began in 1996, now also will include the 1999 and 2000 PPG Cup campaigns.

Through the agreement, the computer hardware manufacturer and service provider will continue to supply its top-line equipment for the team's headquarters and trackside operations, as well as technical support for the team's engineering, marketing and administrative staffs.

"Through our first three seasons, Hewlett-Packard has proven to be an invaluable technology partner and an indispensable resource," said three-time CART champion driver and Team Rahal owner Bobby Rahal. "Given the strategic importance of technology in our sport, we couldn't be more pleased to have them continuing as a part of our team."

"The competitive, high-tech environment of Championship Car racing has proven to be an ideal platform to market our products and services," said Hewlett-Packard Worldwide Motorsports Manager Pat Esposito. "We've built a productive relationship with Team Rahal and look forward to expanding it in the years to come."
