Although Honda-powered Tony Kanaan led the entire field in the morning practice for this weekend's Molson Indy Vancouver, an afternoon setup change and problems with traffic saw the Mo Nunn Racing driver slip down to ninth on the day. So it was home-country favorite Alex Tagliani at the top of the charts at the end of the second and final session of the day, with Helio Castroneves second overall for Honda.

Gil de Ferran, in the second Marlboro Team Penske entry, was fourth overall today, with Dario Franchitti rounding out the top ten. Michael Andretti was another driver to star in morning practice, but dropped back a handful of positions in the afternoon. Paul Tracy complained of difficulties with traffic in his Team KOOL Green entry and Adrian Fernandez finished 17th to lead his two-car team, four spots ahead of teammate Shinji Nakano.

There is a chance of rain tomorrow here in British Columbia, however final practice will take place rain or shine at 10:00 a.m. PDT with qualifying at 1:45 p.m.

Helio Castroneves (#3 Marlboro Team Penske Honda) 2nd fastest in practice today: "I feel great. There was a lot of traffic around this place, but I always expect that. There's still a lot of work to do on our car. If the weather cooperates, it's going to be much faster tomorrow. We know we have a good car, and we're not trying to invent stuff. I also think the communication between the drivers definitely helps. The whole atmosphere of the team is the key to our success."
