Today's qualifying session was interrupted by rain after only seven cars had completed their runs. It was subsequently determined by CART that the grid for tomorrow's Harrah's 500 will be set by the lap times from this morning's final practice session. Hence, Michel's actual qualifying time of 32.774 seconds (219.686 mph) will be thrown out in exchange for his morning practice time of 31.676 seconds (227.301 mph). Jourdain will start in the 6th position for tomorrow's 500-mile event.

Michel Jourdain, Jr.

"Obviously, I am happy with the way things turned out. I was flat out all the way around the track in my qualifying run and that's all the speed we had. We have a very good car for tomorrow's race. The time I set in morning practice was with a good draft which is important for the race. It's a very, very long race and for that reason, the starting position doesn't really matter. But of course, it's always better to start toward the front!"

Coverage of the Harrah's 500 Presented by Toyota begins with CART 2Day which airs at 11:00am (EDT) Sunday, July 22nd on cable network ESPN2.
