"The biggest problem we have right now is there is a lot of understeer in the car. We are fighting really hard to improve the handling and we've tried a number of different strategies. This is probably the most challenging road course we race on all season so it will be very important to get it right for qualifying. For sure, the car works better on new tires and we didn't have them on when the car was at its best. We need to improve a lot for tomorrow but I'm confident we're heading in the right direction."
* The Honda Grand Prix of Monterey featuring the Shell 300 marks Jourdain's 99th start in the CART FedEx Championship Series and his 96th consecutive start (beginning at Vancouver in 1996).

* At the Harrah's 500 presented by Toyota at the Michigan International Speedway, Jourdain scored the first podium of his Champ Car career with a 3rd place finish.
* Jourdain currently stands 22nd in the Drivers Championship with 24 points.
