LONG BEACH, Calif. (Feb. 28, 2002) - Tickets for the 28th Annual Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, which takes place April 12-14, will be available for purchase in downtown Long Beach beginning Monday.

The Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach's downtown ticket office, located at 430 East First Street in Long Beach, between Elm and Linden Streets, will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekends.

This year's edition of the Grand Prix will again feature the stars of the CART FedEx Championship Series, led by two-time Long Beach winner Paul Tracy, Michael Andretti, Dario Franchitti, Adrian Fernandez, and Jimmy Vasser.

The action-packed weekend also includes the popular Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race, now in its 26th year. CART's highly competitive development racing series, the CART Toyota Atlantic Championship, returns to showcase the future stars of Champ Car racing. North America's longest-running race series, the Trans-Am Series for the BF Goodrich Tires Cup, is back to feature racing's top "muscle cars" and their slam-bang style.

In addition to top-notch racing, spectators can take part in a variety of family-oriented activities and enjoy live music performances throughout the weekend. Fans can visit the popular Automobile Club of Southern California Lifestyle Expo, an exhibition that includes the latest high-tech products and services, racecars, games and simulators, as well as a photo retrospective of the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach.

The race circuit, which includes the downtown streets of Long Beach surrounding the Long Beach Entertainment and Convention Center and the Aquarium of the Pacific, is 1.97 miles in length and includes 11 turns. Twenty-one grandstands line the circuit with reserved seating, limited general admission seats, and seating for various club ticket packages.

Ticket prices for the three-day event range from $40 for a Sunday-only general admission ticket to $108 for a three-day ticket, which includes Saturday and Sunday reserved seating on upper levels of the grandstands. Limited pre-paid parking packages are available and can be purchased when ordering tickets.

In addition to the downtown walk-up service, tickets can be ordered via credit card by using the toll-free ticket hotline, (888) 82-SPEED. Tickets can also be purchased on-line at www.longbeachgp.com, or at Ticketmaster locations throughout Southern California, including all Robinsons-May, Tower Records and Wherehouse stores.

Handicapped seating, Bosch CART Garage passes, hospitality club packages and super photo tickets are also available for purchase.
