Drive-Thru Crew News Motorola 300 Gateway International Raceway Madison, Illinois May 27-29, 1999
Circuit: 1.270-mile oval Race: 236 laps/299.72 miles
Tony Kanaan, #44 McDonald's Honda-Reynard - Finished 7th:
"I have to say good job to my guys one more time. I think they must have won the pit stop competition for this race! The Drive-Thru Crew did an awesome job. The car was consistent all the time. It was just hard to pass in traffic. It was really hard. I got stuck behind PJ (Jones) for so long, running 27.4's. As soon as I passed him, I did a 26.4. That put us a little bit behind, but overall it was a good race. Top 10 was our goal for here and that's our goal for Milwaukee."
Steve Horne, Team President:
"I think it was a pretty good race. The car was consistent the whole race. We wanted to finish in the top 10. The pit stops were awesome and we did it. I believe Tony set the third fastest race lap and that does a lot for his confidence on the ovals."
