LEXINGTON, Ohio - Gearbox problems prevented Project Racing Group (P.R.G.) driver Luiz Garcia Jr. from improving on his time during qualifying for the Miller Lite 200.

The Brazilian said he lost sixth gear in the last eight minutes of the 30-minute session. Prior to losing the gear, Garcia had recorded his fastest lap, a time of 69.471 seconds (117.010 mph), a little off of the 68.588 he had in the morning practice.

The P.R.G. team immediately went to work on the gear, but decided to call it a day early.

Tomorrow's race begins at 2 p.m. Eastern Time.

Quotes "The car felt good and I felt I could easily surpass my morning time, but I lost sixth gear during the last eight minutes of practice. I had a good run going, but I guess we'll never know how good it could have been." - Luiz Garcia Jr., Driver

"We had a disappointing run in qualifying. We have a much better car than the time indicates and we'll show that tomorrow for the race. We feel we can have a great run and bring home some points." - Andreas Leberle, Team Owner
