#26 TEAM KOOL GREEN HONDA/REYNARD:
"The KOOL car felt good - it seemed to have a pretty good balance. But between all the red flags and our own problems, we just never were able to put a lap together to show it. We had a little drama this morning when we had a coolant leak in the water system that necessitated an engine change. It wasn't anything the crew could fix with the engine in the car. The new engine we put in the car had a quite a few miles on it - about 200 or so. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, it had a mechanical problem with about 25 minutes left in the afternoon session. We changed gears in the primary car this morning and it didn't make sense to bring the spare car out without the same changes on it. And because we were busy changing the engine between sessions, we didn't get the changes made onto the spare car. No panic, but we need to get more accomplished tomorrow."
#27 TEAM KOOL GREEN HONDA/REYNARD:
"It wasn't a bad day. We had a pretty disruptive session this morning, so I'm glad things went better this afternoon. We were doing the same as everyone else - just working, trying to get the KOOL car quicker. I'm happy with where we are today. We've got some more work to do tomorrow, though. There are so many different kinds of corners and different surfaces here, and you've got trees over some of the corners, so there is a different balance in every corner and different levels of grip. That takes some getting used to."
