CHAMPCAR/CART: Forsythe Championship Racing Rockingham previews

Ovals in 2001: Herta has three top-ten starts on the ovals this year, including a fourth place qualifying result in Texas, and two seventh place starts (Nazareth and Michigan). Herta's best oval finish this season came at Michigan superspeedway, where he led 17 laps and finished 15th.

Rockingham: Forsythe Championship Racing team owner, Gerald Forsythe is a partner in Rockingham Speedway. Forsythe has been a driving force in maximizing CART's identity outside the United States, as Forsythe Racing was the co-promoter of this year's successful inauguration of the Tecate Telmex Grand Prix of Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico and next year's Champ Car event in Mexico City, Mexico.

Double Take: While traveling through various airports throughout the United States, you might notice large advertisements on light-boards that feature Bryan Herta. The Buckle Up America and the Crash Test Safety campaigns, sponsored by the National Department of Transportation and Safety are the subject of the ads.

Herta on Rockingham: "It's been a tough couple of weeks on everyone, hopefully we can get back to business here and start moving ahead. I think everyone has done a fantastic job getting these races put together over here. The crowd in Germany was incredible and I have a feeling we will see this same thing here this weekend in England. We lost a lot of track time in Germany because of the weather, it will be important for us to get as much track time as possible this weekend. It would be great to give Jerry a good result on one of his tracks."
