"I'm very excited. These are our first points so that's good for the team. We had some problems the last few races and finally got the monkey off our backs. We started in the back because we didn't qualify, but we took advantage of the yellows and timed them perfectly. I had to be very patient with the fuel mileage which, at the end, helped me because we got that yellow. I was coming in, but that gave us the advantage to pit under yellow and put us right there with everybody. The pit stop was awesome because we managed to not change tires and pass a few guys. We went from 10th to sixth so that was really good. The car wasn't perfect. We didn't start right and we really didn't have much time to put it right during the weekend. It was good enough to stay there and fight. In general, I am very happy. It was a good weekend for the team, and we need to keep scoring like this."
John Ward, Chief Engineer/Race Engineer - Fernandez:
"Well, we actually finished a race and got some points. Adrian did a great job as usual with the fuel mileage and that really made the difference. We went a lap down, but we had a lot more fuel on board and could do about 20 more laps than the leaders. When they started to pit we got our lap back and actually got in the lead. We got some points here and we're thrilled."
Shinji Nakano, #52 Avex/Alpine Honda/Reynard/Firestone:

"It's a shame because I made a mistake this morning and crashed the car. It was my mistake and I had a really good car this morning. I just made a mistake and lost everything. The guys did a good job to get the backup car ready, but unfortunately I had a big oversteer in the car. I was really struggling and fighting with oversteer and I couldn't do anything. At least I could start the race and I could finish the race, so I'm happy. I'm sorry for the team but at the same time, I want to say thank you very much to the team. They really did a good job and it was just my mistake. Without that I think I could have done a much better job, but at least I learned a lot for next time."
Tom Anderson, Owner/Team Manager:
"Well, Adrian finally got some points so maybe this is the start of a run! Ten points today for Adrian, so we're very happy. The strategy worked well for the #51 side. On the #52 side, we didn't get any strategy breaks. We played the cards we were dealt but that's all we got. It wasn't to be so we ended up 16th. Shinji got a lot of experience, and we gained some more bricks for our foundation."
