Honda Indy 300
CART FedEx Championship Series -- Round 20
Surfers Paradise, Queensland, Australia -- October 26-28
2.795-Mile Temporary Street Course
Adrian Fernandez, Owner/Driver -- #51 Tecate/Quaker State/Telmex
Qualified: 17th 94.035 107.003 mph
"It was a very frustrating session. With the four red flags I had basically one lap the whole qualifying run. There were just too many accidents. We were towards the end of the pit lane so I was waiting for everyone to go out to get a clean lap. We never got a clean lap until the end and that was just one lap. It's pretty frustrating because I think we could have qualified better than that. The car is not fantastic but it is better than where we are on the grid. After that long red [flag] at the end, we only had one lap. The tires were not there on temperature and you are rushing everything. It was just very difficult."

"I think I had a good car for qualifying. At the beginning, we changed the setup and it didn't work and we had to change the setup during the session. After we changed the setup, there were too many red flags and not enough laps. It was a crazy session but it was the same for everybody. At least we have a reasonable car for the race."

Tom Anderson, Owner/Team Manager:
"It is difficult to put any rhythm to a session when some of the boys in the group can't keep it on the table, but you just take what you get in those situations. When you don't get more than two timed laps in a row, it's like a six-gun shootout. Our cars are a lot better than what our positions show, and we'll just have to use some strategy tomorrow and see where we go. Like I said, I think the cars are pretty good but we didn't have an opportunity to show it today due to the all the red flags."
