LAUSITZ, Germany -- Both CART Champ Car practice sessions at the new 2.023-mile EuroSpeedway in Lausitz, Germany, were cancelled today due to inclement weather. It began to rain at 9:25 a.m., five minutes before the start of the first practice session of the weekend and continued to rain throughout the day. Friday's schedule will include two practice sessions, one from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (3:30 - 5:30 a.m. Eastern U.S.) and the second from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. (7:30 - 8:30 a.m. Eastern U.S.) If track conditions force a delay of the morning session, the schedule will float, conditions permitting, with a two-hour minimum break between the first and second sessions. "Time certain" provisions may not apply.

There will be no qualifying and the starting grid for Saturday's German 500 will be based on Championship point order. Team KOOL Green driver Dario Franchitti is currently fifth in the CART FedEx Championship with 85 points and teammate Paul Tracy is 11th with 65 points.
